Guardian and Conservator Education

The Office of Public Guardian develops and implements education programs for individuals serving as guardian and/or conservator in the state of Nebraska. All individuals serving as guardian and/or conservator in the state of Nebraska are required to complete Guardian/Conservator Education unless the requirement is specifically waived by the court.

Course Costs and Formats

Guardian/Conservator Education is provided in both online and in-person formats. All class participants must register and pay for class beforehand. Registration costs are $20 for the online course and $35 for the in-person course. Those who choose to complete the course online will receive login credentials for class within 7 business days of completing registration and payment. After receiving login credentials, the online course can be completed and revisited at your preferred pace using any computer with an internet connection (Mozilla Firefox should be used for optimal performance of the course). Those who choose to complete the course in-person must register for a specific date and location of their choosing. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon completion of the course, which will then need to be filed with the county court where the guardianship or conservatorship exists.

  • Each person who registers for the online class will need their own email address, the same email address may not be used for more than one person.
