The Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR) approves mediators who are trained to mediate with parents who are developing or modifying a parenting plan. Approved mediators have received the required training, experience,  and continuing education requirements. ODR also approves mediation centers that provide mediation services to parents and offer a sliding fee scale based on income. Income verification is required to be placed on a center's sliding fee scale.

Below is a searchable list of approved mediators and centers.  You can search by name or by county. If an individual mediator is not available for your county, contact the mediation center for your county. The center will work with you as how (in person or virtual) and where services are provided.

We assist families with amicable or "DIY" divorces. With the self-help packets available at https://supremecourt.nebraska.gov/self-help, many families choose to navigate their divorce with limited attorney involvement. After 25 years as a family law attorney/litigator, I changed my practice to family mediation, a positive problem-solving option to avoid litigation. As a mediator who is a licensed attorney, I assist families as a neutral and assist them in their efforts to resolve matters without the need for Court intervention. We mediate Parenting Plans, Financial Plans (including child support), and Property Settlement Agreements. We also provide a wide range of family-related mediation services, including guardianships, wills and estates, paternity, modifications or parenting plans and child support, and more.. As a retired Lincoln Public School Administrator and teacher, my past roles provided many opportunities to act as an unbiased third party; which included using listening skills, probing to uncover facts, facilitating problem solving, maintaining confidentiality, and writing a variety of plans. While participating in Family Mediation, there have been a variety of decisions for the Parenting Plans that naturally revolve around school. I have a high comfort level for asking questions and doing reality testing in order to have a plan that is best for the children in the family. I have appreciated the three Supervising Mediators that worked with me during my apprenticeship experience. They provided great modeling of co-mediation skills and valuable feedback to me. I believe this experience confirmed that mediation at The Mediation Center is important and something I am committed to doing.

I have continuously utilized negotiation/mediation through my professional and volunteer careers as a certified visual art instructor, guidance counselor, and behavior specialist.  I love working with students prekindergarten through higher-ed and their parents, teachers, and administrators in collaborative and conflict resolution scenarios.  Training in basic and family mediation was completed the fall of 2016.  I affiliated with the Mediation Center in Lincoln in 2017.  It is exciting and satisfying to see clients, through mediation support, use their best decision making skills to benefit their children during the emotional time of separation and/or divorce.  My ability to aid clients in re-framing their feelings and frustrations into non-threatening statements, assists them in seeing perspectives and emotions beyond their own.  This approach is effective for me in mediating parenting plans, restorative justice sessions, and extended family conflicts.
