Civil Action:  Summary Judgment--Wrongful Termination

Action Taken by Trial Court: O’Brien filed a wrongful termination action against Bellevue Public Schools. He asserted that his employment was terminated in retaliation for his reporting of violations of state and federal laws regarding removal of asbestos. He sought lost wages and other damages. After filing an answer denying O’Brien’s major allegations, Bellevue Public Schools filed a motion for summary judgment. The district court granted Bellevue Public Schools’ motion for summary judgment and dismissed Robert O’Brien’s complaint.
