ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY -- Office of Probation Administration

Under general supervision, this is responsible administrative secretarial work for the Programs and Services Division in the Office of Probation Administration. Work involves administrative matters on a daily basis and requires considerable decision-making and independent judgment.
Work may include assisting in planning meetings, distribution of information, confirmation of hotel reservations, and verification of meeting arrangements; attending meetings and conferences as required; taking and transcribing meeting minutes, editing and tracking policies; receptionist duties; preparing correspondence and other materials; tracking division employee timesheets and checking for accuracy; tracking legislation and reviewing any legislative bill changes; maintaining adequate office supplies and materials; provide maintenance for copy machines and printers; maintain filing system; perform other office administrative tasks as directed.
Considerable knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, working knowledge of modern office systems and equipment; ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures, ability to maintain administrative, statistical, and general records. Minimum qualifications: Graduation from high school with some administrative secretarial or general secretarial experience.
