Judge Linda S. Caster Senff Named 2013 Presiding Judge of County Court’s Fifth

Judge Linda S. Caster Senff has been named County Court Presiding Judge of the 5th Judicial District (Boone, Butler, Colfax, Hamilton, Merrick, Nance, Platte, Polk, Saunders, Seward, and York counties) beginning January 2013.   The Nebraska Supreme Court approved the nomination of Judge Caster Senff, whose name was submitted by her fellow county court judges for the leadership position.

Judge Caster Senff was appointed to the county court bench in 2005.  She is a member of the Nebraska Supreme Court Commission on Children in the Courts and serves on both the Nebraska Supreme Court Media Committee and the Judicial Ethics Committee.  She is also active in the Nebraska County Judges Association and serves on the Criminal Procedure, Judicial Education, Probation, and Executive Committees. 

As presiding judge, Caster Senff has primary responsibility for overseeing the delivery of county court services within their judicial district. She will also serve as the liaison to other agencies of local and state government for the courts of the district and to the Nebraska State Bar Association and the press.

Presiding judges also bear the responsibility for overseeing personnel matters for the district and provide county courts in the area with direction in matters of local district policy.
