State v. Sledge
A-12-0494, State v. Claude Sledge III (Appellant)
Lancaster County District Court, Judge John Colborn
Attorney for Appellant: Sarah Newell (Public Defender’s Office)
Attorney for Appellee: Nathan A. Liss (Attorney General’s Office)
Criminal Action: Driving during revocation.
Action taken by the trial court: The trial court overruled Sledge’s motion to suppress evidence, finding that the police officer that pulled him over had reasonable suspicion to stop the vehicle and make contact with the driver. After a bench trial, the court found Sledge guilty of driving during revocation and sentenced him to 1 to 2 years’ incarceration.
Assignments of error on appeal: Did the trial court err in overruling Sledge’s motion to suppress evidence? Did the trial court err in finding Sledge guilty of driving during revocation? Did the trial court impose an excessive sentence?
