Lancaster County Veterans Treatment Court Awarded Federal Grant

The Veterans Treatment Court in Lancaster County has been awarded a $496,000 grant through the U.S. Office of Justice Programs and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The 3-year grant allows for court enhancements, including safe and sober housing, transportation assistance, and enhanced supervision for veteran participants. The grant will also fund an independent program evaluation and enhanced training opportunities for the Veteran’s Court team.

The Lancaster County Veterans Court was founded in April 2017. The court is an 18 to 24-month program targeting veterans who have been charged with criminal conduct. The program requires intensive probation supervision as well as treatment programming through the Department of Veterans Affairs. District Court Judge John Colborn and District Court Judge Robert Otte are the Lancaster County Veterans Court Judges.
