Case Summary

A-21-0497, Cynthia A. Parde (appellant) v. Arlan D. Parde

Gage County District Court, Judge Rick A. Schreiner

Attorney for Appellant:  John W. Ballew, Jr., Steven D. Burns (Ballew Hazen, PC, LLO)

Attorney for Appellee:  Terrance A. Poppe (Morrow, Poppe, Watermeier & Lonowski, PC)

Civil Action:  dissolution of marriage

Action Taken by Trial Court:  The district court dissolved the parties’ marriage and divided the marital estate.

Assignments of Error on Appeal:  On appeal, the appellant assigns that the district court erred in (1) its valuation and division of the marital estate in several respects, (2) failing to recognize proceeds from the sale of her premarital property and recognizing a gift to the appellee without sufficient evidence, (3) allowing the appellee to retain all of the 2019 crop proceeds as nonmarital property while refusing to award her a compensating judgment for the use of marital monies toward input costs to produce said crop, (4) allocating an estimated tax liability to the appellee that was inconsistent with the parties’ stipulation for trial, (5) failing to award her alimony in lieu of income-producing property, (6) failing to award her a portion of the crop-share lease income attributable to leases the appellee entered into, and (7) denying her request for attorney fees and costs.
