Mediation has been at the heart of my professional work since 1991. I have served as a mediator, facilitator, and convener for individuals, businesses, governmental entities for hundreds of cases since that time. Part of my work has included education and training of others in mediation and related collaborative practices. Mediating and facilitating family and child welfare matters has been about 50% of this work. I was the founding director for one of Nebraska's regional community mediation centers and served in that role for fourteen years, including building collaborative tribal-county relations through the federal Weed and Seed Initiative and native peacemaking. Now, as director for the NE Office of Dispute Resolution, my role is to support the use of quality, ethical mediation practices across the state, in communities, courts, and for the general public.
