Sarah Rinne was appointed Chief Probation Officer of District #1 in Beatrice in July, 2011. She began her career as a supervision probation officer with the Southeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court in December, 2007, and was promoted to Drug Court Coordinator in August, 2009. She was instrumental in furthering the advancement of the drug court program in the Beatrice and Wilber areas.
Chief Rinne possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/Criminology from Doane College and has completed all coursework for a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree.
She has a strong knowledge of criminal justice, addiction treatment and evidence-based practices.
Chief Rinne is an officer safety trainer for the Nebraska Probation System, training new officers and conducting district training re-certifications. She is an active member of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, the Community Justice Group, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1066. She also participated in the Blue Valley Behavioral Health Community Advisory Group. Chief Sarah Rinne is a Marine Corps veteran, having served in Kuwait as a platoon sergeant during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
