Kathy Sweeney, Clerk Magistrate of the Valley and Greeley County Courts to Retire November 2017

Kathy Sweeney, Clerk Magistrate of the Valley and Greeley County Courts to Retire November 2017

Valley and Greeley County Court Clerk Magistrate Kathy Sweeney submitted her notice of retirement effective November 3, 2017, after 33 years of service to the Judicial Branch.

According to fellow Clerk Magistrate Cathy Reiman of Boyd and Rock Counties, neighboring courts could always count on Kathy to step up and help when called upon, “Her experience in working for the court for 33 years and her vast knowledge of the system will leave a huge void in the 8th Judicial District.”  Reiman continued, “Working in two courts has always kept Kathy very busy; but never too busy to be helpful to other courts needing assistance within the district.”

County Court Judge Tami Schendt echoed the comments of Clerk Magistrate Reiman, thanking Sweeney for her service and wishing her well in retirement.

Immediately prior to the retirement of Ms. Sweeney, a Clerk Magistrate or Interim Clerk Magistrate will be designated for the court.
