March 6: Judges John Samson and John Colborn

Nebraska District Court Judges John Samson of Blair and John Colborn of Lincoln have been invited to sit with the Nebraska Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 6th for today’s argument session.

The court session will be held in the Supreme Court Courtroom in the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln beginning at 9:00 a.m. Oral arguments can be viewed live from Nebraska Educational Television’s Live & On Demand: State Government website: http://netnebraska.org/basic-page/television/live-demand-state-government

March 8: Judge James Doyle with Court of Appeals Judges Frankie Moore and David Arterburn at UNL College of Law

Nebraska District Court Judge James Doyle of Lexington, along with Court of Appeals Judges Frankie Moore of North Platte and David Arterburn of Papillion, have been invited to sit with the Nebraska Supreme Court on Thursday, March 8th for this month’s argument session.

The court session will be held at the University of Nebraska College of Law in Lincoln beginning at 9:00 a.m. Oral arguments can be viewed live from Nebraska Educational Television’s Live & On Demand: State Government website: http://netnebraska.org/basic-page/television/live-demand-state-government

For over 30 years the Nebraska Supreme Court has traveled to the law schools for the purpose of making the Court’s business accessible to students on their campus. Annual visits are made each spring to the University of Nebraska College of Law in Lincoln and Creighton University School of Law in Omaha.

Cases argued at the schools are selected to demonstrate the variety of legal arguments that face the court system on a regular basis. Students are furnished with case descriptions, case briefs, and a variety of informational resources regarding Nebraska’s appellate and trial courts.

Following each argument session, the judges will spend time talking to students about the appellate process and career opportunities as lawyers.
