Clerk Magistrate Linda Hayden of the Morrill County Court to Retire January 2025
Morrill County Clerk Magistrate Linda Hayden recently submitted her notice of retirement, effective January 2, 2025, after just over sixty years of service to the Judicial Branch.
“Linda started working in the Morrill County Court part-time in October of 1964. She went full time January 1, 1965. She started as a secretary, then was appointed Clerk of the County Court. Later she was appointed Acting County Judge. When the court reform bill went into effect in January of 1973, she was appointed Associate County Judge; a title that was later changed to Clerk Magistrate.
When I first sat at the bench in Morrill County, Linda had already been working there for over forty-eight years. Linda’s devotion to her office and to the people of the Twelfth Judicial District is astonishing. Linda’s selfless work ethic and integrity are unparalleled. She has worked tirelessly for sixty years to ensure that all who arrive at her office are served with dignity and respect. Linda’s retirement is well deserved. On behalf of all the people you have served the past sixty years, thank you, Linda, for your service.
Personally, I could not have had a better person to help me develop and grow as a county judge. Linda is so kind and generous and competent–a consummate professional. My respect and gratitude for Linda and all she has done for me is beyond measure. Thank you, Linda,” commented County Court Judge Paul Wess.
