Investiture Ceremony for Justice Jeffrey J. Funke as Chief Justice
The investiture ceremony of Justice Jeffrey J. Funke as Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court will be held at 4:00 p.m. on November 22, 2024, in the Rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol.
Judge Todd Hutton, Sarpy County, will open the ceremony. Former Chief Justice Michael Heavican will administer the oath of office and Governor Jim Pillen will present the certificate of appointment. Retired District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier will give remarks regarding the appointment of Judge Funke.
The public is invited to attend.
The vacancy is due to the retirement of Chief Justice Michael Heavican on October 31, 2024.
