Judicial Nominating Commission Hearing Livestream.

Judicial Nominating Commission Hearing Livestream.

The Nebraska Supreme Court will pilot a new livestream project aimed at providing remote viewing of the Judicial Nominating Commission hearing on February 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Courtroom #316, Douglas County Courthouse, Omaha, Nebraska. Chief Justice Jeffrey Funke will preside over the hearing where Commission members will interview the seven applicants for the office of District Judge of the Fourth Judicial District.

The public hearing will be livestreamed at the following link: https://youtu.be/pd3Pkt7qWLc. Chair Chief Justice Funke emphasized that no public participation will be permitted via the livestream and if technical difficulties occur, the livestream may be interrupted or discontinued, but the in-person hearing in Courtroom #316 will continue uninterrupted.

The goal of the pilot is to increase awareness of Judicial Nominating Commission hearings and provide a way for Nebraskans to join Commission hearings using the technology that exists in Nebraska’s courtrooms.

The project is a collaboration between the staff of the Douglas County District Court, and the IT departments of Douglas County and the Nebraska Judicial Branch.
