Konia Fries Chosen to Lead County Court in Plattsmouth
Konia Fries has been selected to serve as the Cass County Court Clerk Magistrate in Plattsmouth, her official work as Clerk Magistrate begins May 1, 2025.
“With nine years of dedicated court and management experience, Konia Fries brings wisdom, integrity, and a steady hand to every challenge she faces,” according to Trial Court Services Director Sara Fowler.
County court clerk magistrates work under the general direction of the presiding county judge supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court. The position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and records of the court. Fries will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the court’s administrative functions and for investigating and evaluating potential procedural changes.
Fries will work in the 2nd Judicial District with fellow clerk magistrates Dana Ritchheart of Nebraska City, and Barbara Pousson of Papillion. The 2nd District includes Cass, Otoe, and Sarpy counties. Judges PaTricia Freeman, Todd Hutton, S. Colin Palm, and David Partsch preside over the courts and direct the magistrates in the 2nd District.
Fries will replace Clerk Magistrate Cindy Cich who will retire at the end of April.
