Kristina Sehi and Leah Buhrman Chosen as Clerk Magistrates for Courts in 7th Judicial District

Kristina Sehi began her duties as Clerk Magistrate of the Pierce County Court on November 1, 2020.  In Madison, Leah Buhrman took the office of Clerk Magistrate on November 4, 2020. Both courts are in the 7th Judicial District, which also includes Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Stanton, & Wayne counties.

Sehi replaces Clerk Magistrate Debra Theisen, who retired after 39 years of service to Pierce County Court. Buhrman assumed the position vacated by retiring Madison County Court Clerk Magistrate Lori Bohn, who served the court for 41 years.

“Kristina and Leah are great representatives of the next generation of clerk magistrates who bring both court experience and a new vision to their positions,” noted Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly. “While the retirements of two magistrates with combined service of 80 years leave big shoes to fill, Kristina and Leah’s enthusiasm and leadership will ably take Madison and Pierce County Courts into 2021 and beyond.”

Clerk Magistrates supervise, assign, and direct the work of all staff within the county court under the general direction of the presiding county judge. The clerk magistrate position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and records of the court. Sehi and Buhrman will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of their courts’ administrative functions and for evaluating and implementing potential procedural changes.

Sehi and Buhrman will serve in the 7th Judicial District with fellow Clerk Magistrates Katherine Armbruster, Stanton County; Betty Boggs, Knox County; Sandra Meyer, Cuming County; Linda Mitchell, Antelope County; and Ashley Siebrandt, Wayne.

Judges Michael Long, Ross Stoffer, and Donna Taylor direct the operation of the county courts in the 7th Judicial District.
