Students at the Creighton School of Law and the University of Nebraska Law College who provided free legal work for low income individuals were recognized for their service during May graduation ceremonies this year. Each student received a certificate of appreciation from the Nebraska Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and Nebraska State Bar Association acknowledging their commitment to improving access to justice through contributions to law-related pro bono service as a student.

The Nebraska Access to Justice Commission is created to promote the Nebraska Supreme Court’s goal of providing equal access to swift, fair justice for all Nebraskans regardless of income, race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age or language. 

The Nebraska State Bar Association works for Nebraska lawyers to help them achieve the highest standards of competence, ethics and professionalism and to protect and promote the administration of and access to justice. The NSBA’s Volunteer Lawyers Project helps the NSBA meet that mission by connecting Nebraska lawyers with pro bono opportunities serving low-income Nebraskans.
