Marc Kohmetscher Named Chief Probation for District 9
Marc Kohmetscher, Alternative to Incarceration Specialist with the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation in Lincoln, has been selected as Chief Probation Officer for Judicial District 9, consisting of Buffalo and Hall Counties. This appointment becomes effective October 16, 2023.
According to Kohmetscher, “I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve as the District 9 Chief Probation Officer and come into this position with 25 years of experience in the field. He continued, “For me, success is not measured by what you have done, but what you’ve done for others. I look forward to joining a dynamic team of probation staff in Grand Island and Kearney that will work tirelessly to strengthen our communities and empower individuals.”
Kohmetscher began his career with Nebraska Probation in 1997 after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a BS in Criminal Justice/Psychology. He held various positions with probation over the years as an officer, Reporting Center Coordinator, and Alternative to Incarceration Specialist. Throughout his career, he has been involved in many initiatives, including technology development teams and as a probation trainer.
He is a recipient of probation administration’s 2018 Rising Star Award and the 2018 Leadership in Development Award.
He replaces Connie Hultine who most recently served as Chief Probation Officer for the district.
