Marissa Miller Chosen to Lead County Court in Fremont

Marissa Miller has been selected to serve as the Dodge County Court Clerk Magistrate in Fremont, her official work as Clerk Magistrate begins October 21, 2024.

“Ms. Miller’s dedication, hard work, and knowledge of the courts will enable her to excel in her new position as Clerk Magistrate,” according to Trial Court Services Director Sara Fowler.

County court clerk magistrates work under the general direction of the presiding county judge supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court. The position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and records of the court. Miller will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the court’s administrative functions and for investigating and evaluating potential procedural changes.

Miller will work in the 6th Judicial District with fellow clerk magistrates Vicki Kuhlmann of Blair and Tekamah, Sara Gunderson of Ponca, Marcie Goeden of Pender, Kerri Wiese of Dakota City, and Diane Sudbeck of Hartington. Judges Francis Barron, Sara Bauer, Thomas Klein, and Edward Matney preside over the courts and direct magistrates in the 6th District. The Judicial District includes Burt, Cedar, Dakota, Dixon, Dodge, Thurston, and Washington counties.

Miller will replace Interim Clerk Magistrate Marcie Goeden.
