Probation reporting centers provide a continuum of services for clients under one roof. Centers work with a variety of individuals from state probation, federal probation, and the community. With the pooling of state and county resources, the centers provide a means by which clients’ time can be structured toward educational opportunities, employment assistance, classes, and support groups that are either court ordered or offered based on the needs of the clientele. Services are tailored to meet the needs of the local community and are evidence based. (Evidence-based policies and practices use current research and the best available data to guide decisions and design programming.) Reporting centers assist in engaging clients in rehabilitative services while simultaneously providing enhanced supervision through probation. Reporting centers also serve as community resources for individuals who live in the area or are related to clients on probation. They offer a variety of services to meet unique needs. These services range from Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to employment classes to access to computer labs, along with other services that meet the community’s demands.
