Nebraska’s Appellate Level Clerk of Court to Retire
Wendy Wussow will retire as Clerk of the Nebraska Supreme Court and Court of Appeals after nearly six years of service to the Judicial Branch. Wussow submitted her notice of retirement from state service effective January 18, 2024.
In thanking the courts for the opportunity to serve as clerk Wussow noted, “I have thoroughly enjoyed working for all of you and I will miss many aspects of this position.”
Wussow will return to the private practice of law. Before her term as Clerk, she served as Agency Legal Counsel with the Nebraska State Patrol. She began her career as a private practice attorney in Kansas where she also served as a part-time municipal judge and later as assistant county attorney. Previously, she worked as a full-time prosecutor in both Kearney, Nebraska and in Mason City, Iowa.
Erika Schafer, Staff Attorney for the Nebraska Supreme Court will serve as interim Clerk of Court.
