Nebraska’s First Veterans Court to Celebrate Opening November 4, 2016

The Douglas County District Court has announced the establishment of the first Veterans Treatment Court in the State of Nebraska. A formal ceremony will take place on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the Legislative Chamber of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska. Then Honorable W. Mark Ashford will preside. The Veterans Treatment Court is a judicially supervised court designed to hold responsible and address the unique needs of military veterans who have been charged with various felony crimes in Douglas County, Nebraska. The media is welcome to attend the ceremony, cameras, and recording devices are permitted.
