Nebraska Court of Appeals Judge Frankie Moore President-Elect of National Council
The Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal elected Nebraska Court of Appeals Judge Frankie Moore as the President-Elect of the Council at their annual conference in Charleston, South Carolina. Her one-year term began October 27, 2023, and she will automatically succeed to the office of President in November 2024. During the 2023-2024 term, she will work closely with the President, Judge Mark D. Pfeiffer of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
The Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeal was formed in 1980 and is comprised of judicial leaders of state appellate courts around the nation. The Council provides a body of consultation and education working toward improving the administration of justice by sharing ideas and best practices, learning about effective programs, and examining ways to promote efficiency and fiscal responsibility in appellate courts.
Moore has served on the Nebraska Court of Appeals since January 2000 and was the chief judge from 2014 to 2020. She is also a member of the Nebraska Access to Justice Commission and serves as the chair of the Self-Represented Litigation Committee. In 2015, Moore received the “Distinguished Judge for Service to Community” award from the Nebraska Supreme Court.
