Nebraska Judicial Branch Announces New Clerk of the Supreme Court

Joshua Shasserre has been named Clerk of the Supreme Court, effective May 1, 2024.

Mr. Shasserre will be responsible for the overall vision, mission, goals, and objectives for the Clerk of the Supreme Court of the Nebraska Judicial Branch. The Clerk of the Supreme Court is a high-level administrative and managerial position with responsibility for the oversight of all Supreme Court and Court of Appeals records.  In addition, the Clerk contributes to managing the caseload of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the State Bar Commission, as well as a number of additional duties for which the Clerk is responsible by virtue of provisions in the Nebraska Constitution, statutes, or court rules. 

Prior to joining the Nebraska Judicial Branch, Mr. Shasserre held leadership roles in the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office for the past 10 years.  He holds a Juris Doctorate from Ave Maria School of Law, Ann Arbor, MI, and bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Cell and Structural Biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  Mr. Shasserre is a member of the Bar of the State of Colorado,  the United States Supreme Court Bar, and a member of the State Bar of Nebraska since 2008.
