Nebraska Supreme Court to Hold Court Session at McCook High School
In honor of Law Day, Nebraska Supreme Court Justices will hold oral arguments in the McCook High School auditorium on April 28, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
“McCook Public Schools is extremely excited to experience this wonderful learning opportunity for our students,” noted Public Schools Business Manager Jeff M. Gross. He continued, “The McCook community is very proud of its political and legal history in Nebraska, and we are excited to showcase our community and our outstanding hospitality to the Nebraska State Supreme Court.”
This visit marks the first time the Court has held arguments in McCook. The event is part of a continuing effort by the Nebraska Supreme Court and the legal community to raise awareness of court processes and the importance of civics education to American society.
Court arguments will begin at 9:45 a.m. with an introductory program for students starting at 9:30 a.m. Local trial court judges will provide background information on Law Day and the Nebraska court system during the student-focused introduction.
Whether held in the Supreme Court courtroom or outside of the State Capitol, all argument sessions are open to the public.
McCook High School’s “Bison TV” will broadcast the proceedings.
