Robin Cobaugh, Assistant Clerk II for Keith County Court, has been selected to serve as Clerk Magistrate for Keith and Arthur Counties in Ogallala and Arthur, Nebraska.  Cobaugh will begin work as clerk magistrate on September 30, 2022.

“Robin has been an assistant clerk for the Keith County Court for twelve years and has experience in multiple case types.  She will continue to provide exceptional service to the court and the public in her new role,” according to Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly.    

County court clerk magistrates work under the general direction of the presiding county judge, supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court.  The position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and records of the court. Cobaugh will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the court’s administrative functions and for investigating and evaluating potential procedural changes.

Cobaugh replaces Clerk Magistrate Lori Hill, who served the area as clerk magistrate for the previous twenty years. Hill resigned as of September 30, 2022.

Cobaugh will work in the 11th Judicial District with fellow clerk magistrates Brenda Cochran in Tryon, Stapleton, Thedford, and Mullen; Raquel Dringman in Beaver City; Myndee Hagen in Lexington and Elwood; Deb League in Benkelman; Traci Loker in Stockville; Karen Mueller of Imperial; Annette Shafer in North Platte; Linda Smith in Trenton; Gretchen Wiebe in McCook and Hayes Center; and, Kathy Woodmancy in Grant.

Judges Edward Steenburg, Joel Jay, Anne Paine, Tanya Roberts-Connick, and Jeffrey Wightman preside over the courts and direct the magistrates in the District which includes Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow, and Thomas Counties.
