Seven Submit their Names for County Court Judge in the Fourth Judicial District
LINCOLN – Makayla S. Danner, Joseph L. Howard, Michael W. Jensen, Tamara T. Mosby, Yvonnda A. Summers, David M. Wear, all of Omaha, and Philip K. Kleine, Elkhorn, have submitted applications for appointment as County Court Judge in the Fourth Judicial District which consists of Douglas County. The judicial vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge Jeffrey L. Marcuzzo.
The public hearing of the Judicial Nominating Commission will be held at the Douglas County Courthouse, District Courtroom #506, 1701 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska, beginning at 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, February 21, 2025. The Commission will interview all applicants for the office at that time.
Any member of the public wishing to present public testimony concerning any candidate for the judicial vacancy may do so by:
- Written public testimony, signed and clearly labeled as such, should be mailed to the Commission Chair no later than January 17, 2025, at the following address: Justice Stephanie F. Stacy, Nebraska Supreme Court, PO Box 98910, Lincoln, NE 68509 or emailed to dawn.mussmann@nejudicial.gov. All written testimony received by the deadline will be marked as an exhibit and available for public inspection during the hearing.
- Oral public testimony may be presented during the public hearing in Courtroom #506 of the Douglas County Courthouse, Omaha, Nebraska.
Additional written information, including letters supporting or opposing an applicant, may be submitted to the commission at any time prior to its selection of qualified candidates to fill the vacancy, which may occur immediately after the public hearing. Additional written information should be mailed to the commission chair or emailed to dawn.mussmann@nejudicial.gov and shall be deemed confidential communications to the commission.
