Congratulations to Amoreena Brady and Grace Bartling for being recognized at the 2021 Nebraska Juvenile Justice Association (NJJA) conference on May 6 in Kearney.

Amoreena Brady (left), Juvenile Justice Reform Specialist, received the Commitment to Excellence in Leadership Award. Nominations for Amoreena stated that her leadership and impact on reforming the Juvenile Justice System is fueled by her compassion and talent for building relationships. Whether it is with youth, a co-worker, or a stakeholder, you cannot mistake her genuine investment and unwavering support. She is the first to lift others up, nominate them for awards, listen as a member of the Peer Support Team, or organize the division social committee to get a gift for a team member. Amoreena always puts others first and is well-deserving of a huge pat on the back herself.

Grace Bartling (right), RISE (Recognizing Increased Skills in Education) Specialist in District 9, was selected as the 2021 NJJA Scholarship recipient. She submitted a personal essay during the application process where she said, “I truly believe I have found my calling in the juvenile justice system. I have found that helping young men and women develop into their blossoming lives is not only a privilege but an honor. Receiving this scholarship would help me be able to continue my education and service while expanding my knowledge of how to help teenagers through their trying years.”
