The Nebraska Supreme Court has approved changes to the templates for citations used in county court, effective January 1, 2019. The changes to §6-1463 and Appendix 5 citations include: transition to electronic citations where possible; transition to standard-sized paper for all citations; elimination of Supreme Court requirements for agency copies of citation; inclusion on the citations of additional fields necessary for the courts, prosecutors and law enforcement; and clarification of existing fields to allow better consistency of reporting.

Changes to §6-1422 were also approved to require sufficient reporting information for the courts, prosecution and law enforcement. Clerk magistrates are asked to share this information with prosecutors and law enforcement to cooperatively implement the changes January 1, 2019.
