A swearing-in ceremony for Crystal Hestekind as Chief Probation Officer of District 7 (Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, & Wayne Counties) was held on July 19, 2024, at the Madison County Courthouse. Judge James Kube administered the oath of office. The ceremony was attended by chief probation officers from around the state, area judges, state senators and state administration.

Hestekind began her duties as Chief Probation Officer on May 20, 2024 following the retirement of former Chief Probation Officer Kathryn Liebers.
