Creighton Law School Hosts Supreme Court Arguments

During the 2024 Creighton Law School argument session, students had the opportunity to observe three cases: medical malpractice from Grand Island, a personal injury case involving Gretna Public Schools, and a second-degree murder case from Scottsbluff.

The Gross Appellate Courtroom in the Ahmanson Law Center at Creighton was full of first and second-year law students on April 3 who were encouraged to pose questions to the Justices following the session.

All argument sessions, whether conducted in the Supreme Court courtroom or outside the State Capitol are open to the public. NET Television streams arguments from both Creighton and UNL.

For a little over 40 years, the Nebraska Supreme Court has convened argument sessions at the Creighton University School of Law. These sessions have transitioned from fall to spring over time. The Omaha World-Herald's October 2, 1979, edition heralded the Court's inaugural session visit with the headline, "State Supreme Court to Hold Sessions Here!"
