Day 3: Chief Justice Summer Tour First Stop Day Three - Box Butte County Court (Alliance)
“This is home for me,” noted Justice John Freudenberg during his opening address to the group of individuals welcoming the Chief Justice’s Summer tour to the district courtroom at the Box Butte County Courthouse. He added that he represents the 6th Appellate Court Judicial District which includes 47 of Nebraska’s 93 counties. The Alliance courtroom was the first stop on the third day of the Chief Justice’s Summer Tour.
While thanking the staff and county commissioners for the work they do for the citizens of the Box Butte area, Chief Justice Heavican stated, “Every year, we take a tour of various courthouses and locations in the state, which is an opportunity for you to put a face to a name-- if you have questions, comments, or concerns, please get in touch with us.”
At the conclusion of welcoming remarks, Clerk of the District Court Kevin Horn let the group know that he was also serving as sergeant-at-arms for the visit and that “no one leaves here without taking some goodies (breakfast) with them.”
