District Court Clerks Rally to Assist Each Other With New Jury Selection Procedures
New procedures require new ways of thinking, and creative problem solving is always better with little help from friends.
When the court in Burt County needed to use the school gymnasium for jury selection, Clerk of the District Court Michele Quick didn’t hesitate to call on her fellow district court clerks for assistance. With the aid of the team, Quick was able to run a smooth, socially-distanced jury selection.
The mission of these clerks will continue throughout the pandemic. Dakota County is next on the list with a jury trial coming up in September.
“I was so grateful to have my fellow Clerks of District Court agree to assist me in this unusual process of jury selection with Covid-19 concerns,” noted Quick. “I will be happy to return the favor to each of them!”
