District Court Judge Terri S. Harder to Retire May 31, 2024

District Court Judge for the 10th Judicial District, Terri S. Harder, is retiring May 31, 2024.

In her retirement announcement to Governor Pillen, Harder wrote, “It has been the biggest honor and privilege of my life to have served the citizens of the State of Nebraska in this position for almost 25 years.”

Harder served the citizens of the 10th Judicial District from 1999 until her retirement in 2024. After taking the bench, area voters retained her in her position, most recently in 2020. Counties in the 10th Judicial District include Adams, Clay, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps, and Webster.

The first step in deciding whether Harder’s judicial position will need to be filled is for the Judicial Resources Commission to call a meeting to determine whether, based on judicial workload statistics, her retirement creates a judicial vacancy on the district court for the 10th Judicial District.
