On September 28, 2018, the Douglas County Veterans Treatment Court collaborated with the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA) to provide a unique event for Veterans Court participants. The event provided hands-on equine training to veterans and team members while learning about the services of HETRA.

The Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy veteran’s program is designed to provide participants with opportunities for physical, mental and social improvement. Veterans who attended the September event are able to continue with a 9-week program.
