When the pandemic began, then-bailiff Allyson Stewart and IT Division staff members Shane Smith and Anh Nguyen quickly formed a team to help both the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals convert oral arguments from in-person proceedings to WebEx. This complicated arrangement required active interaction between Justices/Judges and the parties in each case. Stewart, Smith, and Nguyen quickly worked together to assemble needed equipment. They also collaborated to educate both courts and attorneys on best practices to optimize the web-conferencing experience.

Thank you Ally, Shane and Anh for your ambitious work with web-based technologies. Your efforts kept Nebraska’s appellate courts open and available despite the limitations of the pandemic.
