Governor Proclaims Community Corrections Week: July 15-21
At a ceremony held at the Capitol on July 9, 2018 Governor Pete Ricketts signed a proclamation recognizing Community Corrections Week July 15-21, 2018.
Nebraska Probation and Nebraska Parole employees were on hand for the ceremony.
Jeanne Brandner, Deputy Probation Administrator, addressed the crowd and noted that Community Corrections Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedicated and caring individuals in communities across the State of Nebraska who work tirelessly to make neighborhoods safer. Adult and Juvenile probation officers are on duty every single day to assist probationers, problem-solving court clients and others who come into contact with the court to become better citizens.
Remarks by Brandner:
“Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision week is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedicated and caring individuals in your community who work tirelessly to make your neighborhoods safer. Nebraska Probation Officers, serve our courts, by providing investigation and community supervision for both the adult criminal and juvenile justice systems. These professionals are on duty each and every day to assist juvenile and adult probations, problem-solving court clients and others who have come into contact with the court to become better citizens. This year the theme is “Clients, Employees, and Communities – Power through Partnerships.” We all must work together for stronger bonds. Adult and juvenile probation officers, we salute you. Your commitment and contribution each and every day interrupts the cycle of crime and delinquency and reduces the costly toll this behavior places not only on the victims, but also those who without your intervention and supervision cannot escape it. Thank you for restoring trust and creating hope.”
