Governor Proclaims Community Corrections Week: July 21-27
At a ceremony held at the Capitol on July 16, 2019, Governor Pete Ricketts signed a proclamation recognizing Community Corrections Week July 21-27, 2019.
Bob Denton, Deputy Probation Administrator – Programs & Field Services, addressed the crowd and noted “Community Corrections Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedicated and caring individuals in communities across the State of Nebraska who work tirelessly to make neighborhoods safer. Adult and juvenile probation officers are on duty every single day to assist probationers, problem-solving court clients, and others who come into contact with the court to become better citizens.”
Probation professionals help keep Nebraska safe by providing supervision in communities, assisting with behavior change and striving to provide support mechanisms, like housing, access to treatment, jobs and education for the 18,000 individuals on Probation.
Denton concluded by saying, “On behalf of the Administrative Offices of the Courts and Probation, we salute the nearly 900 Nebraska Probation employees who work to make our communities and neighborhoods safe.”
