Harassment and Domestic Abuse Protection Orders Updated

Mike Nehe, Domestic Violence Program Services Specialist for the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation announced that the project to update Harassment and Domestic Abuse Protection Order forms is complete. The petition and affidavit forms completed by the public have new instructions to assist them in completing the forms.

New Sexual Assault Protection Order forms and instructions as well as the Domestic Abuse renewal forms and instructions required after the passage of LB289 were completed in August.

Additional changes to protection orders will be available once JUSTICE (Sign Desk) programming is completed.

Mike thanked committee members who assisted in updating the forms:  Judge Dave Urbom, Judge Stefanie Martinez, Lancaster County Clerk of the District Court Troy Hawk, Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence Legal Director Robert Sanford, Christon Mactaggart of the Omaha Women’s Fund, Emily Schoenleber and April Scriven of the Nebraska State Patrol, and AOC personnel Sheryl Connolly, Christina Werner, and Paula Crouse.

General questions on protection orders or domestic violence, or anyone having input or suggestions on these or other protection order forms are invited to contact Mike Nehe.  Questions related to JUSTICE data entry should contact the Help Desk at 888-704-9382.

Webinars that Paula Crouse offered the clerks of district courts on LB289 programming are available through JBE:
