Judy Cole, Clerk of the District Court in Antelope County Retired End of June

Antelope County Clerk of the District Court Judy Cole retired June 30, 2020, after over 43 years of service to the Judicial Branch.

Cole began her career with the Court as Deputy Clerk in 1977. She was elected Clerk in November 1994 and took office in January 1995.  Cole saw the court through many changes during her 40 plus years, and worked with several district court judges including Judge Merritt Warren, Judge Richard Garden, Judge Robert Ensz, Judge Patrick Rogers, Judge James Kube, and Judge Mark Johnson.  

“Judy Cole has represented the court with professionalism and dedication to detail and public service.  She was proud to serve the people of Antelope County, and will be remembered by her colleagues in the judicial branch for her welcoming style when judges and staff had an opportunity to visit the court in Neligh.” according to Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly. 

Angela Mortensen took her oath as Clerk of the Antelope County District Court July 1, 2020.  She replaces Cole as both Clerk and Media Coordinator for the District Court.
