The 107^th Legislature, second session, will convene Wednesday, January 5, 2022. A short session of up to 60 legislative days, it is scheduled, at this time, to adjourn April 20. Major topics will include tax reform, State aid to education and increased federal funding sent to Nebraska. Several legislative bills of interest to the Judicial Branch have been carried over from the 2021 session. The subject matter of some of these bills include, truancy, detention, and DNA collection. When all new legislation has been introduced, the list of bills monitored by the Judicial Branch will be posted on the intranet.
