Michael Long to Move from County to District Court

Michael L. Long of Norfolk was appointed district court judge for the seventh Judicial District of Nebraska on May 14, 2025.

According to Gov. Pillen’s office, Long has been a county court judge in the 7th Judicial District since 2013. Before that, he served as county attorney in Antelope County and was a deputy county attorney in both Madison and Scotts Bluff counties.

The judicial vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge Mark A. Johnson.
