National Interpreter Appreciation Day is May 1st
National Interpreter Appreciation Day is a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring the important role that interpreters play in facilitating communication between people who speak different languages or use different modes of communication, such as sign language. Nebraska Judicial Branch’s interpreter partners enable individuals to access vital services, actively participate in all processes, and engage in meaningful interactions, breaking down language barriers and fostering understanding and inclusivity. This day serves as an opportunity to express gratitude for the hard work, skill, and dedication of our interpreter partners across the state’s various court and probation settings. It's a chance to acknowledge their contribution to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity and ensuring equal access to justice regardless of the language spoken or mode of communication used.
