“Take Your Dog to Work Day” is Friday, June 23, 2017. 

While most courthouses do not allow dogs in the building, Nebraska has a couple of working dogs who attend court on a regular basis. 

Manny (pictured) is Sarpy County’s courthouse dog and is trained to calm victims and witnesses in pretrial meetings and court proceedings. During interviews and court proceedings, the dogs are trained to sit or lie near victims and witnesses so they feel safe and secure.

Finnegan, another courthouse dog, lives in Omaha and is the family pet of Judge Doug Johnson. For Judge Johnson, every day is “bring your dog to work” day.  Finnegan is officially trained through ‘Domesti-PUPS’ and works in the courtroom on a regular basis.
