Nebraska Clerk of the Supreme Court & Court of Appeals to Retire
Teresa (Terri) A. Brown will retire as Nebraska Clerk of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals/ Supreme Court Staff Attorney on March 2, 2018. Brown added clerk’s duties to her existing Supreme Court Staff Attorney duties in mid-July 2014.
Brown started her career with the Supreme Court in 1987 as a law clerk to Justice C. Thomas White, after which she moved to the Federal Court to work as a law clerk for Magistrate David Piester. In 1991 Brown returned to the State Judicial Branch when the Supreme Court created the position of Staff Attorney. Initially Brown served both the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals but, since 1997, had functioned as Staff Attorney exclusively assigned to the Supreme Court.
When adding the Clerk duties to Brown’s responsibilities in 2014, Chief Justice Mike Heavican said, “She is held in high regard not only by this Court but by many other judges and employees of the Judicial Branch with whom she has worked throughout her career.”
