Nebraska Law Review Article: Restorative Justice and Nebraska Youth

“Restorative Justice and Youth Offenders in Nebraska” is an article recently published in the Nebraska Law Review and co-authored by Professor Kristen Blankley, Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR) Advisory Council member, and Alisha Caldwell Jimenez, J.D., M.A., ODR’s Restorative Justice Program Analyst.  

The article provides an overview of the statewide initiative to provide restorative justice to youth offenders with services provided by the six ODR-approved mediation centers. The article addresses the funding mechanisms and preliminary results, including reduced recidivism rates, and offers critiques of the restorative justice program.
