Nebraska Supreme Court to Hold Court Session at Omaha Roncalli High School
As an ongoing initiative for outreach and education, the Nebraska Supreme Court Justices will hold court in the Roncalli High School auditorium on the afternoon of April 3, 2024. This visit is part of the Nebraska Supreme Court's and the legal community's sustained efforts to enhance understanding of court processes and underscore the significance of civics education in American society.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., Principal J.J. Stoffel will brief the students on court rules and expectations. Steve Lathrop, a former State Senator and Roncalli High graduate, will outline for students the distinctions between the trial and appellate court systems, providing a context for their upcoming experience during the argument session.
Following Lathrop’s presentation, the auditorium will be transformed into a Supreme Court courtroom for the remainder of the day.
