New Video for Attorneys on Nebraska Education Rights
Court Improvement Project and Education Rights Counsel collaborate to produce video for attorneys outlining education rights in Nebraska
Court Improvement Project (CIP) staff, together with Education Rights Counsel (ERC) Executive Director, Lauren Micek Vargas, and ERC Managing Attorney, Elizabeth Eynon-Kokrda, recorded and produced an educational video targeting attorneys outlining the history, challenges, and successes of pre-K - 12 students obtaining education equity in Nebraska.
From the ERC website: Hundreds of children in Nebraska go without any supports to access educational services to which they have a right. No other non-profit in Nebraska is focused specifically on serving under-resourced public PK-12 school students. There is an extensive knowledge gap about public PK-12 educational rights and responsibilities across all communities, neighborhoods, and stakeholders. ERC generates systemic change by equalizing access to advocacy and legal representation for under-resourced families with a focus on special education support and student discipline.
CIP plans on working with Attorney Services and Judicial Branch Education to make the video available for MCLE credit in the future.
