October is Guardianship Awareness Month

Today, the Nebraska Judicial Branch recognizes Guardianship Awareness Month to thank our Nebraska guardians and conservators for their dedication and service.

Nebraska guardians are volunteers or professionals, family members, neighbors, attorneys, or individuals from various walks of life.  They bring their life skills, compassion, and patience to serve Nebraska’s most vulnerable citizens.  Guardians and conservators serve over 10,000 adults and children in Nebraska, and more remain in need.

We thank our guardians for your commitment to enabling vulnerable adults and youth to lead rich and productive lives while providing support and helping them access needed services.   You change lives!

If you would consider opening your heart to serve as a guardian for a person in your community, don't hesitate to contact the Office of Public Guardian Education and Outreach Coordinator, Erin Wiesen at Erin.Wiesen@nebraska.gov
